Another new Bollywood film theme added to my repertoire list today :)

"Kudmayi" from the movie Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani (2023), is a romantic drama starring Ranveer Singh (as Rocky) and Alia Bhatt (as Rani), and the music became a big highlight of the movie.

The song "Kudmayi" is a beautiful romantic track sung by Arijit Singh and Shreya Ghoshal. It has a classic Bollywood charm, mixing old-school romance with contemporary vibes. The song's romantic and celebratory vibe makes it a perfect fit for a wedding atmosphere

The melody of "Kudmayi" is both sweeping and graceful, which gives it an almost classical quality. When played on the violin, with its rich, emotive tones, can elevate the beauty of the song even further. Its ability to convey both joy and tenderness fits well with the emotions of a wedding ceremony.

The song is a celebration of love and marriage, exploring the joy and excitement that come with starting a new life together. The word "Kudmayi" is a playful take on the word "Qudrat" (meaning nature), and in this context, it conveys the idea of the natural union of two people - symbolising fate, destiny, and the beautiful bond that love brings.

In the film, this song plays during a significant moment in the love story between Rocky and Rani, and it encapsulates the essence of their relationship - full of emotions, dreams, and a sense of serendipity.

In many Indian weddings, music plays a central role, and traditional instruments like the sitar, tabla, and of course, the violin, are often incorporated into the celebrations. The violin, known for its versatility and ability to blend well with both classical and contemporary compositions, bridges the gap between traditional and modern music. "Kudmayi" has this balance, so it fits well within the context of an Indian wedding.
